Does He Like Me?
Dear Guidance Guy,
I'm in love with my friend. He sits next to me in class and I mean right next to me all day. I want to tell him but I'm too shy. I will never make the first move because he's really popular and I would be making a fool of myself. What should I do?
Also I don't know if he likes me. He said no but you can't always believe him. He's showing jealousy (with my ex), he's lying to me, he's nice and staring at me. Does he like me?
Signed,
I Luv Quinn

Dear I Luv Quinn,
I'm guessing you're in elementary school because you sit next to him all day, which means you don't change classes yet. So what you have is an early form of love. That doesn't make it any less real, but it does make it harder to deal with.
Both of you seem not quite ready for a dating relationship. You don't have enough confidence in yourself and he doesn't seem mature enough to know what to do yet. There's no way to know if he likes you, because I don't think he knows.
I'll give you the same advice I give everyone about young love. Let time take care of this one for you. As you get older and more experienced, you will become more self-confident. And THAT is the thing that attracts people - as friends and boyfriends/girlfriends. If you're happy with yourself, other people will want to be around you.
Go out and have fun. If Quinn is smart (and ready), he'll see you as the great person you are.
All The Best,
The Guidance Guy
