A hotty? Notty!
Dear Guidance Guy,
Hey, I have a problem. There is a kid named Dylan at my school. He is hot and everything, but I gave him advice to ask out the girl of his dreams. But I like him a lot and one day he will be my boyfriend (I hope). She turned him down and well now I'm trying to talk to him see if he is OK and everything. But now when I sign on he signs off in like a minute, and if not that he will just sign off when I sign on. What should I do? Please help me.
Thanks,

Dear Don't,
Looks like Dylan has made a choice, which is to not deal with you at the moment. It could be because he's upset about the advice you gave him (although I think it was very cool that you told her to ask the other girl out).
It could also be because he's not interested and you may be trying too hard. Guys like to feel like someone is interested in them, but if it's too much, they get turned off. I'm sure the same is true for the ladies. Show him you're interested, but not too much so. If you've already talked with him and he's not responding, that's a message to back off a little. Try spending some time with other people. He may become more interested in talking with you. You may also find someone else who you're interested in, and is interested in you also.
Final suggestion: Try doing your talking face to face, rather than on line. There's nothing like seeing the look in someone's eyes when they speak with you. That will tell you how people really feel. You can say a lot more that way also.
Good Luck,
The Guidance Guy
