Dear Guidance Guy,

There's this teacher. He's so cool, young and funny. I had him for web design. I have this huge crush on him. I don't have him for anymore lessons. And I think my friend knows I like him. And I'm scared he might tell other people. He's already told this teacher. What do I say to him?

Dear Crush,

I was all set to tell you that it's perfectly OK to have a crush on your teacher; in fact it's normal. But it looks like you know that already.

The worst thing that can happen has already happened...he told the teacher. I'm assuming you didn't die of embarrassment because you were able to write for advice. So everything else will be fine.

With all due respect to your friend, he's a Doofus. He needs to learn how to keep his mouth shut. Of course, he's not going to do what you want him to do just because you want him to do it.

I'm not sure which "him" you mean when you say "what do I say to him?" If you mean your teacher, there's nothing to say. Most teachers are very flattered when a student has a crush on them. As long as it doesn't put you or him in a bad situation, enjoy your crush. It will pass...it always does.

If you're asking what you should say to your friend, ask him how he would feel if you had some dirt on him and told everyone. No doubt he'd feel bad or angry. Then he'll know how you feel. If he doesn't understand that, he's not much of a friend.
